Projects
As a husband, dog owner, researcher, occasional homeowner, sometimes student, and fitful writer, I like to take on more than is probably wise. This page links to some of my ongoing projects, both personal and professional.
Collaboration Stats
Begun in Summer of 2009 as a contract project for the Wikimedia Foundation’s Strategic Planning process, CollabStats is a collection of tools to mine IRC chat logs and MediaWiki dumps and answer questions about process. Questions like, “Who’s involved?”, “What are they doing?”, and “When do they do it?”, as well as, “How many people care about this thing?”
Wiki Analytics
In Summer of 2009, I started talking with Eugene Kim about the question, “How do you know if a wiki is healthy?” Here are some links to some of the results of that discussion:

The Heart Sutra Project (Stalled; Incomplete)
In March of 2005, I asked Parallax Press to let me type in Thich Nhat Hanh’s commentary on the Heart Sutra (Prajnaparamita Hridaya) and post it on the Internet. They agreed. Unfortunately, life intervened and the project was never completed. I’d like to request permission again and finish this some day.

Nonfiction
Over the years I’ve written a couple of magazine articles that have been published in trade rags and such.
